Look! A professional photo to establish trust and credibility!

Hey there!

My name is Meredith, and I am the founder of The Agentic Feminine

I’m a 48 year-old, perimenopausal, recently-divorced mom of three school-aged kids. I’ve spent most of my life in Texas, but my family heralds from South Louisiana.

Recently, I moved my fam to the Sacramento area (loving it) for access to majestic nature, creative professionals, good schools for the kiddos, and to escape the rising tide of evangelical, Christo-fascistic theocracy taking root in Texas that fills me with a deep, powerful rage.

With a degree from The University of Texas Austin in Government (shout out, class of 2000!) and a year abroad  in Strasbourg, France with The University of Syracuse, I started a budding career as an international geopolitical analyst AND DID FAIRLY WELL.

Alas, the onslaught of patriarchal assaults combined with trauma leftovers from a toxic childhood railroaded me into  shedding any sense of self and handing my power right over to — you guessed it — a man...

After which, I withered as a stay-at-home mom in the tempestuous seas of a turbulent marriage. In the kindest words possible, it was unsustainable.

The Agentic Feminine is the crowning achievement of my Return to Self. Return to my Sacred Divine. A reclamation of my power and potential.

I will never give them away again.

I have emerged with a greater rootedness, wisdom, and strength to meet the calling I have felt all my life: to use my unique skillset of gifts, talents, passions, and curiosities to help build better systems for women, our community at large, and our connection with nature, the

Earth, and all of us miraculous beings who call it Home.

Watch what we can do.

a path with trees on either side_edited_

This poem by Mary Oliver came to me and saved my life just as I was learning to acquaint myself with the cliff's edge of divorce.

By Mary Oliver

"Without
community,
there is no liberation...
but community must not mean
a shedding
of our
differences,
nor the pathetic pretense
that these differences
do not exist."

–Audre Lorde

"Women can help turn the world
right side up.
We bring a more collaborative approach to government.
And if we do not participate, decisions will be made without us."

Wilma
Mankiller:

a proclamation

TAF was born from a deep learning from the wise women who came before me that we must build new ways of being – starting with ourselves – rather than simply change the way we behave inside existing structures.

The premise of The Agentic Feminine is that the solution is **and always has been** women.

All women.

All types of women from all walks of life with their kaleidoscopic origin stories, lived experiences, and points of view.

Building new socio-economic/political/civic infrastructures from a foundational understanding of matriarchal organizing principles and philosophies.

One that understands the history of patriarchy and is committed to a recalibration – a rebalancing – away from male-domination extremism.

One that remembers reciprocity with Mother Earth.

As women end self-abandonment and reclaim themselves by divesting from socialized patriarchy and the other brutal, exploitative, extractive, hierarchical systems emanating from it, we REWILD.

We become agentic and step into our power.

We become the answer we have always been seeking. United, we are unstoppable. Unbreakable.

Collectively, we can change the fates.

And we must.

We are all there is.

TAF exists in this space with clear understanding our path is-was-always blazed by vital, fierce women and those with a strong feminine understanding of communal responsibility.

We move in recognition and gratitude that the agency we have now to forge new progress only exists because of the sacrifice by those who answered the summoning before we were a whisper on the wind.

We stand in respect, support, and sisterhood with the others doing this work present day amidst the turbulence and turmoil that tempt us to disbelieve the grand possibilities that guide our soul.

May we together build the future we were all meant to live.

Still

I Rise

In this video, I deliver a speech before my children’s school board in Richardson (Dallas), Texas September 2021, as the Delta variant of Covid was raging through schools, urging them to keep with mask mandate in place. I finished and walked out amidst snickers and sneers from the right-wing, Covid-denying, anti-masking crowd who were defying the masking requirement in the room at the time.

The school board voted to uphold the mask mandate for a few more months, despite fierce opposition, likely saving lives.
